The Richard M. Keane Foundation was established to create a 9/11 Memorial Sports Center in the Wethersfield community. Richard Keane and two other Wethersfield men died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. A Sports Center in their memory is a positive and wonderful way to commemorate life’s happy events, as well as to remember lives lost.
The purpose of the Foundation in collaboration with the Town of Wethersfield, is to provide a safe and fun environment in which youth can come together to participate in athletic, academic, and social programs with the support and guidance of caring adults.

Happy New Year!! The Keane on Kids After School Enrichment program is in the midst of its 6th year and going strong!
Registration for the Winter/Spring session opened on January 4th and within the first half hour we had 400 enrollments! This is the best start ever.
We continue to provide great programming at all 5 elementary schools. This year we will have 2 Musicals, Willy Wonka at Highcrest and Matilda at Webb. ‘Sports and Games’ has been added to more schools as well.

Registration opened on January 4th. Go to the Wethersfield Parks and Recreation website and register online at: (wethersfieldct.gov/recreation) or you can visit the Parks and Recreation Department in the Town Hall and register by paper. (Online registration is preferred and immediate.)
Registering early is also helpful to make sure that we avoid last minute registrations and can get accurate class lists to the schools as early as possible. This helps to ensure a smooth end of the school day transition for your students
